On October 14, 2024, I had the best lobster tail in Cape May City, New Jersey.

We made a conscience effort to go to an iconic restaurant that I had not been to in more than 30 years. Why it had been that long, I still have no idea.

We have returned two more times since then.

The Lobster House is conveniently located on the left hand side, directly following the EXIT 0 sign when you enter Cape May City.

You can’t miss the big Lobster House sign every time that you go by … but, how many times do you actually stop?

The Lobster House Since 1922

The Lobster House has been open for more than 100 years. You don’t last more than a century in business by accident.

The staff uniforms are basically the same … featuring a signature red, white and blue sailor-style uniform, that the restaurant's servers have worn since The Lobster House opened 103 years ago.

Today, The Lobster House restaurant comfortably seats 550 people, which is about 10 times more than the original seating capacity.

We also love the classic, iconic checkered tablecloths in the dining room.

Here Is The Monster Sized Lobster Tail

This is my actual lobster tail from October 14, 2024. It was enormous and the texture and flavor was absolute perfection.

The lobster tail was $ 62 and worth every penny. I ordered mine with a baked potato … that was humongous and a side order of stewed tomatoes.

I had my lobster tail broiled with regular melted butter. You can also have their melted brown butter.

Great Hamburger, Too

The Lobster House is well known for its fresh and diverse seafood menu … however, they also offer an unexpected, fantastic hamburger.

Here is my wife Margie’s hamburger this same day.

The Lobster House is consistently excellent and the views are also wonderful.
