A Howell Township resident is in critical condition after being injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Manchester Township.

Sean Page, 21, was driving a silver 2001 Ford Taurus along Route 571 and lost control of the vehicle while navigating a turn and drove into a tree, according to an investigation by Manchester Police, who arrived on scene around 1:15 am.

After the initial collision, Page's vehicle kept going and struck a smaller tree, and finally came to a rest in a wooded area along the Ridgeway Road property line.

Page was partially ejected from the Ford Taurus due to not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

He was brought via ambulance to a landing zone, police said, and then was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Page suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident and remains in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon.

Manchester Police said that the investigation into the crash is ongoing but speeding appears to be a contributing factor.
