Indicted Atlantic City, NJ Mayor Endorses School Board Candidates
You have to give Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small credit. Even if it’s begrudgingly.
Marty Small never retreats and he never surrenders.
Despite facing criminal indictment (along with his wife La’Quetta Small) on serious child abuse charges … Small has formally endorsed a slate of four candidates for the upcoming November 5, 2024 school board elections.
Small is openly supporting the following four candidates:
- Shay Steele
- Ruth Byard
- Donnell Holland, Sr.
- Geoff Dorsey
About these four candidates, Marry Small wrote the following on his social media accounts:
Both Marty and La’Quetta Small know how important it is for them to keep a majority of supporters of theirs on the Atlantic City Board of Education.
The Smalls’ have complete control of the Atlantic City Board of Education at this time and they want to keep it that way.
And, for good reason. Marty and La’Quetta Small have been indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury on the following criminal charges:
On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Marty Small, 50, and his wife, La'Quetta Small, 47, of Atlantic City, NJ were both indicted for second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Additionally, Marty Small was also indicted on third-degree Terroristic Threats, and third-degree Aggravated Assault.
The Atlantic City Board of Education is comprised of many people who have relatives employed by the City of Atlantic City and Board of Education.
Here, we connect some of the “dots” regarding the four endorsed Marty Small school board candidates:
Shay Steele’s wife and father work for the Atlantic City Public Schools.
Ruth Byard's two daughters and a granddaughter work for the district.
Donnell Holland's wife is a secretary to superintendent La’Quetta Small.
Geoff Dorsey is on the board of the housing authority and the Marty Small-endorsed candidate, who ran against 6th Ward Councilman Jesse Kurtz.
The treasurer of this school board ticket is Catherine Days. Days is a teacher in the district and she is the sister of Constance Days-Chapman.
This election will be a public referendum on Marty and La’Quetta Small.
Those who support Marty and La’Quetta Small, will likely vote for these four Small endorsed school board candidates.
The opposite will also likely hold true.
