Indicted Atlantic City, NJ Principal Loses Key Judicial Decision
We have obtained two key documents regarding a pivotal decision and order that has been made by New Jersey Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury, Jr.
This is the first news report of this important development.
Judge DeLury has written a 23-page decision and a 1-page order.
Atlantic City High School Principal Constance Days-Chapman was seeking to quash search warrants and suppress electronic evidence that has been secured by The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
We are publishing the 1-page Judge DeLury order at the bottom of this article.
The evidence gathered by The Atlantic County Prosecutors Office against Days-Chapman appears to be compelling and overwhelming.
Quashing the March 20, 2024 Search Warrants and suppressing the electronic evidence was Days-Chapmans’ last best chance regarding the serious criminal charges that she faces.
Days-Chapman is currently fighting for her freedom and her teaching and supervisors certificates.
An Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Days-Chapman on August 17, 2024 on a variety of criminal counts as follows:
- second-degree Official
Misconduct. - one count of second-degree Pattern of Official Misconduct.
- one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
- one count of third-degree Hindering
Apprehension of Another.
Days-Chapman is a very close friend of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small and his wife ... Atlantic City Superintendent of Public Schools, La'Quetta Small.
Marty Small is criminally charged with multiple child abuse charges and he was separately indicted by Atlantic County. grand jury for witness tampering.
La'Quetta Small was indicted for child abuse charge. Somehow, La'Quetta Small has not been suspended, pending the resolution of her criminal case. She continues to have direct pupil and staff contact.
This was likely Days-Chapmans’ last best chance in this case.
