Is Gypsy Bar at Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ, closing for good?
Is the popular Gyspy Bar closing its doors for good?
It appears September 2nd will be the final day for the bar and music venue at Borgata in Atlantic City, but will it return to another location inside the popular casino?
It came to my attention when I saw the popular cover and party band, Kristen and the Noise, post on social media to come see their August 9th show. The show is advertised as their final show at the Gyspy Bar before they close.
"Just one more time at Gypsy Bar at Borgata before it closes," the band posted.
Another band that has played at Gyspy Bar, The Benjamin's, also posted they will play the venue one final time, this weekend.
"We will rock the Gyspy Bar stage for the last time," the band posted. "The Gyspy Bar will be closing its doors this September."
They did mention in their post that they've heard there will be a new live music venue in Borgata in the near future.
What is the Gyspy Bar?
The Gyspy Bar is a fun spot that has live music with many of the area's top cover bands on the weekends and is known for its variety of great tequila drinks.
Its website describes it like this:
The variety of tequila, paired with live music every night makes for a guaranteed good time at Gypsy Bar.
There is also a petition to keep the popular bar open, which was started on July 17th and currently has 67 signatures.
Here is part of the message in the petition:
THIS PETITION HAS BEEN SPECIFICALLY CREASTED TO HALT THE CLOSING OF THE GYPSY BAR LOCATED AT THE BORGATA/MGM CASINO.
However, there has been some talk about the Gyspy Bar moving to Level One, which is a bigger space across from the BetMGM Sportsbook.
We will be looking out to see what's next for Gypsy Bar or to see if a new music venue emerges.
The final show on the calendar is August 31st at 11 PM with a band called Sky City Social.
