Keenan Wright was approved as the new head football coach at Atlantic City High School during a board of education meeting.

Wright succeeds Leo Hamlett, who stepped down after serving as the Vikings’ head coach for two seasons, going a combined 2-18.

Wright had been an assistant coach at Atlantic City under Thomas Kelly from 2010-17.

He is a graduate of Camden Catholic High School where he was a quarterback, then played wide receiver at Wesley College in Delaware.

Central went 2-8 this past season but were perennial playoff contender under Kelly, who resigned after the 2017 season. The will return that includes standouts Corey Yeoman, along with Shawn McGraw, both showed promise on offense and defense last season.
