Large Atlantic City, NJ, Fire Taking Place During Snow Storm
We have learned at 7:00 a.m. this morning that a large structure fire at 2311 Atlantic Avenue was being battled by the Atlantic City Professional Fire Department is fighting a fire in the snow.
This has resulted in all fire companies being on the scene working the fire, with the exception of Engine 5 from Chelsea Heights.
The featured photo above and below perfectly demonstrates how the Atlantic City Professional Firefighters work in sub freezing temperatures battling substantial structure fires.
This Scott Evans photo should be award-winning. And, it tells you everything that you need to know about the caliber of the Atlantic City Professional Firefighters.
We have spoken with Councilman George Tibbitt, who is on the scene now.
We have also spoken on-air with John Devlin, a retired Atlantic City Police Officer. The Devlin Faniiy owns the property directly next to the fire at 2311 Atlantic Avenue.
Devlin advised us that the Atlantic City firefighters did a great job … that they have the fire under control … and, that they are presently dealing with hot spots at this time.
Here are John Devlin photos that he took immediately after the fire was extinguished.
Devlin believes that two buildings were damaged in todays fire.
This is a developing story. We will be providing additional updates later.
Here are some photos of Atlantic City and neighboring fire departments in the past … many who have provided mutual assistance to Atlantic City over the years.
