Longport Police have had their hands full with high-end vehicles being stolen over the past couple of years.

In May 2023, a 2023 BMW 750 was easy pickings as thieves found the keys inside the car.

In June 2023, a Mercedes GLC and a Porche 911 Carrera were stolen on the same night.

On Feb. 24 of this year, a Mercedes Benz sedan was stolen early in the morning after thieves gained entry to the home to obtain the keys. That news had to shake up the residents of that home.

Sunday night into Monday morning, car thieves struck again in Longport.

Longport PD Report 'Multiple Vehicle Thefts'

In a Facebook post on Monday, Longport Police said there had been "multiple reports of motor vehicle thefts in the 100 block of North Evergreen Ave within the borough. The thefts were believed to have occurred between the late night hours on July 28th and the early morning hours of July 29th."

The good news is that Longport Police assigned three officers to the case and within a couple of hours, Longport PD, with the cooperation of police in Egg Harbor City and Hamilton Township, had located both stolen vehicles.
