The Lower Cape May football program has plans to hold Military Appreciation Night this Friday starting at 5:30 ahead of its home game against Lindenwold.

The team will honor any active or retired Cape May County military servicemen and women, as well as first responders, with all proceeds from the event going to the NJ Run for the Fallen.

The team is encouraging families, friends, veterans, active-duty military, and frontline workers to attend to help raise money.

Donations will be collected through Venmo to @NJRFTF. Money will also be raised through jersey sales and donations on the day of the event.

We spoke to Carolina Panthers tight end and Lower Cape May volunteer assistant coach Colin Thompson on Wednesday and he said that there will be three autographed Christian McCaffrey jerseys that players will be wearing and a signed Colin Thompson jersey that will be available for purchase.

Per Thompson, Lower Cape May players are expected to wear special military-style jerseys for the game.
