An Atlantic City man has been charged after police say he fled from a car stop with drugs which led to the seizure of a handgun.

It was back on the night of June 8th that Ofc. Adrian Nunez-Santos with the Atlantic City Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 1400 block of Cedar Court.

The driver, 20-year-old Majestic Moody of Atlantic City, fled the vehicle after stopping, according to authorities.

Officer Nunez-Santos chased Moody and was able to apprehend him. Moody was found in possession 90 bags of heroin, 27 grams of cocaine, and 15 grams of methamphetamine.

Police continue,

Officer Nunez-Santos used his K9 partner, Narco, a trained narcotic detection dog, to conduct a sniff of the vehicle. K9 Narco showed a positive indication for the presence of narcotics. This indication led to a court authorized search warrant for the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded handgun was found.

On June 14th, ACPD officers arrested Moody at Tennessee and Atlantic Avenues.

Moody has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of CDS (three counts)
  • Possession of CDS with intent to distribute (three counts)

  • Resisting arrest
  • Possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose
  • Possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense
  • Unlawful possession of a weapon
  • Possession of large capacity magazine

Moody was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
