They have been winning elections in Cape May by more than 10,000 votes, which has virtually assured that the selected GOP Nominees go on to win the General Election.
The deadline for CapeGOP candidates to submit their letters of intention to seek elective office was January 7, 2025.
It’s Goodbye To Will Morey
After 15 honorable years in elective office, Morey is going to take a step back and he will not be running for reelection to the Cape May County Board of Commissioners in 2026.
Morey’s exit was expected, as he was previously set to leave the Cape May County Board after 12 years … when Morey decided to run and win 3 years ago … making his time in County elective office a full 5 terms.
Morey will continue to serve on the Cape May Board of Commissioners through the end of 2026.
It’s Goodbye To Melanie Collette
Collette has started a new job and has achieved traction at Newsmax Television and other outlets as an on-air contributor.
Therefore, Collette has decided that she will not run for reelection to the Cape May County Board of Commissioners in 2026.
It’s Hello To Curtis Bashaw
The CapeGOP has hit the jackpot with Bashaw deciding to return to the campaign trail. Bashaw was the Republican Nominee for The United States Senate for New Jersey in 2024.
Bashaw was a battle-tested, indefatigable statewide candidate in 2024 and a prodigious fundraiser, who amassed a more than $ 4 million dollar campaign war chest versus then Congressman Andy Kim.
Bashaw received 1,773,58 votes statewide in 2024. Bashaw famously put more than 82,500 mikes on his car during the 2024 campaign.
Bashaw is a former Executuve Director of the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
Bashaw is also the most successful hotelier and visionary in Cape May history.

Van Drew will be on the ballot this year, which is always a good thing for Cape May Republicans.
Van Drew will be positioned at the top of the ballot and he has always demonstrated great assistance down ballot.
Van Drew is a prodigious fundraiser and top vote-getter.
Cape May County Sheriff Bob Nolan
Is the 100th Sheriff in Cape May County history and one of the most likable, respected and popular elected officials.
Nolan will be on the ballot this year, along with numerous local candidates throughout Cape May County.
