Authorities have announced the identity of the man who was fatally shot "in the presence of law enforcement" last Tuesday at a service plaza on the New Jersey Turnpike in Salem County.

29-year-old Kyle Foggy suffered a gunshot wound around 1:45 that afternoon. He was pronounced dead at 10:16 that night at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE.

Foggy had been charged with shooting and killing 28-year-old Michelle Cruz in Lawnside, Camden County.

On Saturday, February 25th, at about 4 AM, Lawnside Police officers responded to the 100 block of Mouldy Road where they located a woman who had been shot. The victim was identified as Cruz, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The service plaza shooting involved members of the New Jersey State Police and the United States Marshals Service. A review of that incident is being conducted by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.

It is not yet known if Foggy shot himself or was shot by law enforcement.

It is also not yet known what the relationship was between Foggy and Cruz.
