Man in Violation of Restraining Order Arrested With Gun in Atlantic City

Atlantic City Police say a man in violation of a restraining order, who had a gun, was arrested on Labor Day.

Authorities say around 11:00 Monday morning, several ACPD officers responded to the 1400 block of Adams Court in reference to a man in violation of a restraining order. Arriving officers found 33-year-old Robbie Pettus, Jr., of Atlantic City outside the home of a former girlfriend. Pettus was in violation of an existing restraining order that was served to him the night before, which prohibited him from being near that home. Pettus was taken into custody. Cops say while he was searched, an officer located a loaded handgun in his pocket.

Pettus, Jr., was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and violation of a restraining order. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
