Authorities say an Atlantic City man has been charged in connection to a stabbing earlier this week; he was arrested after allegedly overdosing.

The Atlantic City Police Department says at around 6:30 Wednesday night, officers responded to Texas and Atlantic Avenues in reference to a man who was stabbed during a robbery.

A 29-year-old victim, found suffering from a stab wound, was taken AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned that the victim’s cell phone and money were taken.

An investigation identified 58-year-old Jeffrey Hill of Atlantic City as a suspect.

Later that night, Hill was found unresponsive from an overdose and revived by an ACPD officer at a house on South Bellevue Avenue.

Hill has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
