Mays Landing, NJ, Man Pleads Guilty to Weapon Charge
A Mays Landing man will likely be spending a few years behind bars after pleading guilty to a weapon charge.
On Wedneaday, 32-year-old Ryan Dutton pleaded guilty to third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in exchange for a three-year term in state prison.
The charge stems from an incident on November 16th, 2022, at the Sandpiper Condominiums in Hamilton Township.
There, police responded to a report of a man yelling racial slurs in the hallway of a building.
Upon making contact with the subject, identified as Ryan Dutton, police observed Dutton carrying a dumbbell. Police
ordered Dutton to drop the dumbbell. After refusing officer commands, Dutton attempted to
lunge at the police officers, before being subdued and arrested.
Sentencing is scheduled for September 26th.
