My First Experience at This Cape May, NJ, Restaurant in 30 Years
You have to drive right past this restaurant every time you go to Cape May City, New Jersey.
It’s on the left hand side right over the bridge, just after EXIT 0.
The sign off of the Garden State Parkway is impossible to miss … you see it every time you go by.
It reads … Lobster House.
It lives up to its name.
I enjoyed one of the best lobster tails that I’ve ever had anywhere.
Which, considering its name, that’s a very good thing. Imagine, calling yourself the Lobster House and not living-up to your name.
Here is my wonderful, broiled lobster tail and you can have with regular melted butter, or, melted brown butter.
It cost $ 62 and it was worth every penny. Every single bite was the perfect texture and bursting with flavor.
Beforehand, I also enjoyed a perfect jumbo lump crab meat cocktail for my appetizer (see below):
My appetizers with my main course were a perfectly prepared baked potato and delicious, flavorful stewed tomatoes.
My wife Margie and sister Karen absolutely loved the homemade “everything” bread. They each took some home in this bag:
Margie had an epic hamburger:
A truly great seafood restaurant should also make a perfect steak and hamburger.
Karen had stuffed flounder, along with a baked potato potato and stewed tomatoes.
Directly adjacent to the restaurant is any enormous and incredibly well stocked seafood market. They seem to have everything you can imagine.
We will be returning to The Lobster House very soon.
The Lobster House has been for more than 100 years, since 1922.
The staff wears a signature red, white and blue sailor-style uniform, that the restaurant's servers have worn since The Lobster House opened.
Today, The Lobster House seats 550 people, nearly 10 times the original seating capacity.
We also love the classic, iconic checkered tablecloths in the dining room.
We had one of the finest meals and best overall experiences that you could ever have at a restaurant.
Our server was named Anna and she was fantastic, too.

Bon appétit.
