My Friend, New Jersey’s ‘The Amazing Kreskin’ Has Died

‘The Amazing Kreskin’ died yesterday at age 89. I am really going to miss him.

I first became aware of Kreskin in the late 1960’s, because my Mother loved watching his various television appearances and Kreskin’s own television programs that he hosted.

My Mother was brilliant and I could tell that she loved watching Kreskin, the ultimate mentalist perform.

My Mother passed away on May 1, 1976. I wish that she had lived long enough to see her son become friends with “The Amazing Kreskin.”

I still can’t believe that it happened. Kreskin was amazing to be around and to talk with, on and off-air.

We have watched Kreskin perform at the iconic Steel Pier, Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City and The Levoy Theater in Millville.

My Brother Don and I were selected by Kreskin to participate with him at The LeVoy Theater … and myself and my wife, Margie were brought-up on stage and performed with Kreskin at Resorts Casino Hotel, which was the last time that we saw Kreskin in person … on Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday May 27, 2023 … where we purchased front row seats.

I am so grateful that Mark Giannantonio and Resorts Casino Hotel had Kreskin perform on this very special evening.

Kreskin was incredibly sharp right-up until the near end of his life. The last time we spoke, he was his usual self, brilliant self.

Many years ago, Kirk Conover nick-named me “Pocket Kreskin” for the many predictions that I enjoy making.

I advised Kirk, live on the air, that I absolutely loved the nickname that he has chosen … However, I stated that before I will use it, I must ask The Amazing Kreskin for permission.

I wrote an email to the amazing Kraken. He promptly wrote back… “Harry, you have my permission to use ‘Pocket Kreskin’ it and use it well.”

And, I have. Thank you to The Amazing Kreskin for this privilege … which I don’t deserve … but, truly appreciate and love it.

Kreskin is the author of 21 books and has hosted his own network television show, along with creating his own board game.

Kreskin has appeared numerous times on Johnny Carson, Regis Philbin, David Letterman, and most recently Jimmy Fallon, Neil Cavuto, Howard Stern, and many other national and international television programs.

Something that Kreskin did many times over more than 70 years, he allowed the establishment to hide his paycheck. If he found it within the allotted time limit, he kept his paycheck. If he didn’t find it, he forfeited his paycheck.

He only failed a few times over more than 7 decades.
