Even in the rough and tumble world of politics, there are some things that cross the line.

Such as accusing your opponent of “killing thousands of people.”

Mike Sherrill Really Said That — Wow

That’s exactly what Mikie Sherrill said about her New Jersey gubernatorial opponent, Jack Ciattarelli during their last debate on WABC earlier this week.

Sherrill has been misrepresenting Ciattarelli’s record throughout the campaign.

However, a bogus allegation that “you’ve” killed thousands of people is a bridge too far.

I heard Mikie Sherrill say it in real time. I’ve known Jack Ciattarelli for a very long time. I knew that he wouldn’t take it lightly and he didn’t.

Ciattarelli Announces That He Is Personally Suing Sherrill For “Inflammatory & Irresponsible Allegation”

This is what Sherrill said:

I think you're trying to divert from the fact that you killed tens of thousands of people by printing your misinformation, your propaganda, and then getting paid to develop an app so that people could more easily get the opioids once they were addicted. Families across the state deserve to know more about that, said Sherrill.

In Announcing His Plans To Personally Sue Sherrill … The Ciattarelli Campaign Said:

Last night, faced with continued questions about her refusal to release disciplinary records that would reveal her true role in the Naval Academy cheating scandal, and pressed about her unusually abbreviated tenure as a federal prosecutor, Mikie Sherrill cracked. In doing so, she claimed - twice - that Jack Ciattarelli "killed tens of thousands of people, including children", a clearly defamatory attack that shocked the moderators, press, and public alike," said Ciattarelli strategist Chris Russell. "In a time where political violence and violent rhetoric are becoming all too prevalent, Mikie Sherrill baselessly and recklessly accusing a political opponent of mass murder in a televised debate crosses the line, said the Ciattarelli campaign.

Ciattarelli Intends To File The Lawsuit Against Sherrill …

… “expect the lawsuit to be formally filed early next week in court.”

NOTE:

Jack Ciattarelli announced today that he will sue Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill personally for defamation following what members of the press labeled an "inflammatory and irresponsible allegation" specific to Ciattarelli's business career, said the Ciattarelli campaign.
