A recent survey suggests New Jersey residents love one fast-food chain more than almost anyone else in the country.
And if you thought that it's a place that serves big, greasy cheeseburgers, you'd be wrong.
Pizza? Subs? Tacos? Coffee? None of the above.
If you guessed Chick-fil-A, you were right.
Editors at Upgraded Points surveyed more than 3,000 Americans and found New Jersey ranks fourth among the states most obsessed with Chick-fil-A.
And we're in good company.
Delaware ranked #1, Maryland tied Texas for the second spot, and Connecticut rounded out the top five.
Pass that Sauce
And it wasn't just the chicken that scored well.
Chick-fil-A dominated the map as the best fast-food joint for dipping sauces in every state except Hawaii … and the cravings don’t stop there.
Participants reported Chick-fil-A Sauce — a combination of honey mustard, ranch, and BBQ sauce — as the most popular dipping sauce in every state except for Hawaii, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Ohio.
Long History, Now Long Lines
The first Chick-fil-A in New Jersey opened at the Paramus Park Shopping Center in 1974. Today, about two dozen Chick-fil-A restaurants operate across the Garden State, with municipalities like Egg Harbor Township and Vineland each home to two locations.
