New Jersey Finishes 10th Least Safe In Nation In COVID-19 Survey
I’m a big fan of WalletHub.com. I like their work. They do a lot of great surveys on variety of important and sometimes fun topics.
I’m very surprised at the results of this latest survey.
The State of New Jersey finished as the 10th least safe state in America during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This result greatly surprises me, as New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy took one of the most aggressive approaches to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
In fairness, New Jersey is one of the most densely populated states in America. This fact directly works against a better finish.
WalletHub used 5 key metrics and evaluated all 50 states and The District of Columbia as follows:
- Level of COVID-19 community transmission.
- The rates of positive testing.
- Hospitalizations.
- Deaths.
- Share of population who are vaccinated.
NEW JERSEY’S SAFETY SCORE DURING COVID-19
Hospitalization Rate = 41st
Death Rate = 44th
Level of Community Transmission = 21st
