
Independent Voters May Tip New Jersey Governor To This Candidate
Some fast fun facts before we reveal the latest results from the Rutgers-Eagleton poll for Governor of New Jersey.
First, there are more registered Democrats than Republican voters in New Jersey … although Democrats have lost, registered voters and Republicans have increased theirs.
However, just like with national elections, independent voters will decide who the next Governor of New Jersey will be.
Great News For Jack Ciattarelli In Latest Rutgers Eagleton Poll
The news couldn’t be better for Ciattarelli. Independents will decide the election, and, Ciattarelli is dominating amongst independent voters in this latest sampling of public opinion.
There Is A President Trump Factor With Independent Voters
There are two different independent voter factors … those who consider themselves "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) supporters and those who are not.
Among those independent voters who consider themselves a MAGA supporter, 73 percent say that they will vote for Ciattarelli.
Those independent voters who do not consider themselves a MAGA supporter … 67 percent say that they will be voting for Democrat Mikie Sherrill.
Approximately 25 percent of independent voters are presently undecided.
This presents an advantage for Ciattarelli.
Polling Director Said The Following
Ashley Koning confirmed that Ciattarelli has a clear edge with New Jersey independent voters, saying:
MAGA independents are more squarely in Ciattarelli's corner than non-MAGA independents are in Sherrill's, said Koning. Even independents who neither support nor oppose MAGA are about three times as likely to go for Ciattarelli than Sherrill, as well as three times as likely to be unsure of who they will vote for, concluded Koning.
