NFL Kickoff 2025: Eagles Face Cowboys Week 1

While the Eagles’ 2025 opponents are already known, the exact dates and times won’t be revealed until the NFL’s full schedule drops Wednesday night. However, we now know they’ll open the season on Thursday, Sept. 4 — and we know their opponent.

The NFL is releasing games all this week, leading up to the full NFL schedule release 2025 on Wednesday night.

It is customary for the Super Bowl champions to begin the year during NFL Thursday Night Kickoff 2025 the Eagles are no different,  and their Week 1 opponent is a familiar NFC East foe.

The Eagles will be hosting the Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field.

The two teams last meet in Week 1 it was the legendary Pickle Juice Game, on Sept. 3 2000, Andy Reid's second season in Philadelphia.

The Pickle Juice game really kicked off this era of Eagles football, with the Eagles dominating the Cowboys 41-14. Since that 2000 season, the Eagles have been one of the NFL' best franchises.

The Eagles-Cowboys rivalry is as fierce as they come in the NFL, with both teams hoping to capture the NFC East. The two teams have met 132 in their history (four playoff games) with Dallas leading the series 74-58.

Philadelphia dominated both games last season by scores of 41-7 and 34-6.

The Eagles have opened as a 7-point favorite in the game according to DraftKings.

The Cowboys are hoping a new coaching staff, the return of Dak Prescott, who missed most of the 2024 season with an injury, and the recent addition of George Pickens will close the gap with Philadelphia.

We now know when we will get our first look to see if they have.
