NJ man charged with having 800+ child porn files, Feds claim
Federal authorities say a Hunterdon County man has been charged for having hundreds of child porn files.
69-year-old David Tuytjens of Tewksbury Township is facing one count of possession of child pornography. He had an initial appearance in Trenton federal court earlier this week and was ordered detained.
According to officials, in December 2024, officers from the New Jersey State Parole Board visited Tuytjens’ home and they found various electronic devices, including a 64 GB MicroSD storage card inside a laptop.
Officers conducted their visit because Tuytjens is not allowed to have, among other things, Internet-capable devices as someone who is under community supervision for life due to a prior conviction.
An examination of the storage card contents revealed at least 800 images and 30 video files containing child sexual abuse materials (“CSAM”). An ongoing review of the CSAM has revealed images depicting prepubescent minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, images portraying sadistic or masochistic conduct, and sexual abuse or exploitation of an infant or toddler as further outlined in the complaint.
Due to Tuytjens’ prior convictions for aggravated sexual assault and possession of child porn, the charge of possession of child pornography carries 10 to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
