NJ Man Gets Six Years in Prison for 600+ Child Pornography Files
A man from New Jersey has been sentenced to six years in prison for receiving and possessing images of child sexual abuse.
U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger says 48-year-old Daniel Murphy of Lebanon, Hunterdon County, previously pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
Sellinger's sentence was handed down in federal court on Wednesday.
Authorities say between 2017 and 2019, "Murphy downloaded and possessed more than 600 images depicting the sexual abuse of children from a peer-to-peer network on the internet."

In addition to the prison term, Murphy was sentenced to five years of supervised release and he was ordered to pay $19,000 in restitution.
