New Jersey Senator Vince Polistina Is Proposing
That Atlantic City remain under state of New Jersey control for the next decade.
Atlantic City currently operates under the Municipal Stabilization and Recovery Act (MSRA), which provides the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA) complete authority over the City of Atlantic City.
Since 2016, the State of New Jersey has been an active partner with the City in managing its operations and addressing significant debt issues, said Polistina. With increased gaming competition from New York City and the ongoing desire by North Jersey legislators for gaming in North Jersey, it's more important than ever that the State and City continue working together for the benefit of all residents, said Polistina.
Polistina Wants To Properly Fund The New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority
To that end, Polistina introduced two bills designed to give the New Jersey CRDA adequate funds to help stimulate business in Atlantic City.

Restoring funding to CRDA, extending the MSRA, and restructuring and extending the Casino PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) program, we will give the City every opportunity to thrive into 2026 and beyond, Polistina concluded.
The Time To Act Regarding Atlantic City Is Now
The Municipal Stabilization and Recovery Act is currently set to expire in December, 2025.
The criminal trial of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small begins in December 1, 2025.
Small will be removed from office if he is convicted.
