A website has been created to memorialize all those who have passed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A South Carolina couple deeply affected by the coronavirus pandemic has created a non-profit website dedicated to providing all families who've lost someone to COVID-19 a way to share their family member's story.

According to a press release, MourningAmerica.org is providing family members of those who've died a way to mourn their loved ones without compromising social distancing mandates.

Most were not able to attend funerals of late family members due to the quarantine. MourningAmerica.org allows people to share stories, pictures, and memories of their departed loved ones for free.

Creators Dermot Jevens and Rebecca Heiss hope the site provides people with comfort during this devastating time.

“MourningAmerica.org is our way of giving people a voice at a time when they need it most,” said Heiss. “People are trapped at home, unable to be with their loved ones, and are now experiencing profound loss. We hope this platform allows them a much-needed way to share their feelings and honor the victims of this deadly disease.” - Rebecca Heiss

There are already many COVID-19 victims from New Jersey on the website.

If you'd like to search for one of your loved ones or add your family member to the database, you can do so by navigating to the top right section of the homepage on the website.
