Northfield, New Jersey House Fire on the Day After Christmas

Former Atlantic City Fire Department Captain (retired) John Brenner reported on his Facebook page about a major structure fire in Northfield, New Jersey on Ridgewood Avenue.

The residential house fire was being fought during the 6:00 p.m. hour on Thursday, December 26, 2024 … yes, the day after Christmas.

Brenner reported the great news that no one was injured or worse during this fire … the residents escaped the home safely.

Having no injuries or fatalities is most important. Material things can be replaced. Certainly loss of life cannot.

The Linwood Fire Department was on hand to battle the house fire.

Brenner also confirmed that the Pleasantville Fire Department RIT Team materially assisted in this house fire.

Professional firefighters battled 34° temperatures to fight the fire this evening. These conditions only add to the danger of their already very challenging public positions.

Mutual assistance in Atlantic County is a beautiful thing to watch. The various departments never hesitate to jump right in and help one another.

This occurs the great regularity all throughout the vocation nationwide… However, it is a very special bond in the Atlantic County area.

Brenner is a retired fire department superior officer who cares deeply about his community.
