Really Gotta Have a Wawa? Here’s Your Chance to Buy an Old Wawa Store
You know the phrase, "Gotta have a Wawa," right?
Normally, it pertains to coffee, hoagies, snacks, and whatnot.
Well, here's your chance to really, really have a Wawa. At least an old one.
As we have documented over the years, those original old-school Wawas that are either now small and cramped-looking or are still in shopping centers have been disappearing very quickly in favor of stand-alone Super Wawa stores.
So what happens when those old Wawas get replaced?
Wawa has an entire corporate real estate division that sells them along with plots of land that the chain hasn't developed.
Easy to spot
Of course, you can easily tell when a building used to be a Wawa. I mean, they all look pretty much the same.
Those old Wawas have huge A-frame roofs with large stones on either side of a protruding door. Many of them become convenience stores again under different names.
Gotta buy a Wawa
So, if you want to own your very old former Wawa store, these locations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania are currently for sale:
- North Broadway in Pennsville, Salem County, NJ
- West Browning Road in Bellmawr, Camden County, NJ
- White Horse Pike in Egg Harbor City, Atlantic County, NJ
- Bristol Emilie Rd. in Levittown, Bucks County, PA
- New Falls Rd. in Levittown, Bucks County, PA
An easy business, right?
If you are thinking about reopening a convenience store in an old Wawa, consider this: those old stores closed for a reason. There's a new Wawa right around the corner. Should you open your own little mini-mart, your competition will be fierce. Wawa spends millions of dollars every year on marketing alone.
How much is an old Wawa?
For the answer to that question, you'll need to be seriously considering buying one of those buildings. When you're ready, you can reach out to Wawa's real estate team.
Keep in mind that we listed former stores just in New Jersey and Pennsylvania above, but you can view the entire list of properties and empty land that are for sale on their website.
