
Philadelphia Man Is Guilty Of 2024 Atlantic City, NJ, Shooting
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty for a 2024 Atlantic City, New Jersey shooting incident.

Philadelphia Man Pleads Guilty

Carlos Medina-Morales, 24 years old, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania pleaded guilty on Monday, June 15, 2026 to :
- second-degree aggravated assault.
In exchange for his guilty plea, it will be recommended that Medina-Morales receive a sentence of four years in New Jersey State Prison.
The terms would call for 85% of the sentence to be served before Medina-Morales would be eligible for parole.
Additionally, the terms call for Medina-Morales to be supervised on parole for three years, following his release from New Jersey State prison.
Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Statement

On July 28, 2024, on the corner of Florida and Atlantic Avenues, Medina-Morales attempt to enter the Cinco de Mayo Bar Restaurant before being refused entry. Medina-Morales appeared to engage in a verbal altercation before returning to his vehicle. He re-entered his vehicle, along with several other individuals. Shots were fired out of the vehicle's window as it passed by the establishment before fleeing the scene. A bystander was struck in the abdomen by the gunfire out recovered from his injuries, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
