Police Make 87 Motor Vehicle Stops In and Around Six Flags Parking Lot

While Fright Fest was taking place inside of Six Flags Great Adventure last Friday night, police were making arrests for scary things going on in the parking lot.

Officers were on detail in the area looking out for distracted, aggressive and impaired driving as well as other illegal activity in the Six Flags parking lot and along Route 537 (Monmouth Road).

Between 5:21 pm and 8:32 pm they conducted 87 motor vehicle stops and gave out 32 motor vehicle summons.

Each of the people facing charges was found with marijuana.

Officers were detailed to the parking lot of Six Flags Great Adventure to address any illegal activity they observed in the parking lot during the evening hours which can draw very large crowds during the annual Fright Fest and police were also assisting with security during that time.

Police who were patrolling the parking lot on foot, bicycle and vehicle were involved in the following incidents.

- 5:21 pm. Officers checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot, arrested a 23 year old male resident of West Babylon, New York who was charged with possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.

- 5:43 pm. Officers walking through the parking lot encountered a male subject who was rolling a marijuana blunt while seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle with the door open. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of additional marijuana. The 25 year old male resident of New York was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.

- 6:48 pm. Officers checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot arrested a 24 year old male resident of Warminster, Pennsylvania for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.

- 6:51 pm. Officers checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot arrested a 21 year old female resident of Wrightstown, who was charged with possession of marijuana along with also having two outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.

- 7:10 pm. Officers checking on a suspicious activity in the parking lot in a vehicle arrested a 20 year old female resident of West Islip, New York who was charged with obstruction, a 20 year old male resident of Dix Hills, New York who was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and a 19 year old male resident of Dix Hills, New York who was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were processed and released on summons pending court appearances.

- 7:32 pm. Officers checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot arrested a 19 year old male resident of New York for possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.

- 8:13 pm. During a motor vehicle stop on Monmouth Road, a 21 year old male and an 18 year old female resident of Newark, New Jersey were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.

- 8:29 pm. While checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot, officers arrested an 18 year old male resident of Union City, New Jersey and charged him with possession of marijuana. He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.

- 8:32 pm. While checking on suspicious activity in the parking lot, officers observed the occupant of a vehicle throw a plastic bag out of the window of the car. The bag was discovered to contain marijuana. A 19 year old male resident of Union City, New Jersey was charged with possession of marijuana. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

Police expect that additional details will be conducted in the future, here and in other areas of the township.
