Authorities in Pleasantville say two people are facing charges after a tobacco shop was busted for illegally selling marijuana.

On Tuesday, the Pleasantville Police Department with help from the Atlantic County Regional SWAT Team and the FBI executed a search warrant at The Gas Station Boys at 18 N. Main Street, which, according to their website, sells "premium cannabis products..."

Police say the search warrant was the result of an extensive investigation into the illegal sale of marijuana which started after numerous residents in the area complained.

21-year-old Christian Mezquita of Pleasantville and 24-year-old Jesus Marero of Fresh Meadows, NY, were charged with:

  • Manufacturing CDS
  • Maintaining a CDS Production Facility
  • Conspiracy
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute within 500 ft. of Public Property
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute within 1000 ft. of a School Zone
  • Money Laundering
  • Possession of CDS

Both Mezquita and Marero were transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a hearing.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
