Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has charged Majd Abdallah with setting a fire in the basement area below the Emilia Romagna Pizza & Ristorante, located on Valley Boulevard in Bergen County, New Jersey.

The fire took place on the morning of February 21, 2022.

Musella has confirmed that Abdallah has been charged with multiple counts of:

  • Aggravated arson.
  • Burglary.

Firefighters from Carlstadt, Little Ferry, Lodi and Moonachie fought the two-alarm fire.

The incident is being investigated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit Arson Task Force, along with the Wood Ridge police department.

Abdallah is being held in the Bergen County Jail. He will have a court proceeding in Hackensack, New Jersey on a date to still be determined.
