Acting Monmouth County, New Jersey Prosecutor Lori Linskey has announced that Donna Cook of Howell, New Jersey has been charged with:

  • Theft by unlawful taking.
  • Forgery.
  • False uttering.

This is a second case for Cook, who was charged last month with stealing $ 2.2 million from her previous employee.

That prompted Cook’s next employer to audit their financial records, which has led to the new charges.

The total loses between both of Cook’s former employers is alleged to be approximately $ 3 million.

In the first case, Linskey alleges that Cook stole $ 2.2 million over seven-years from her previous employer, described as a “Tinton Falls-based construction company,” said Linskey.

Cook was previously charged with the same three offenses as above:

  • Theft by unlawful taking.
  • Forgery.
  • False uttering.

After publicity of Cook’s first employer became public, her next employer, described as a “Shrewsbury-based excavating company,” next examined their financial operating books.

Linskey alleges that between early November, 2021 through early January, 2022, Cook wrote checks to Noth cash and to pay personal expenses.

Linskey alleges that Cook forged signatures on the chfvjs to steal the money.

Linskey has confirmed that both cases are being prosecuted by Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Kristen Anastos.

Linskey is asking for anyone who may have information about Cook, that it can be helpful to these two cases.
