Prosecutor’s office investigates fatal shooting in Mays Landing, NJ
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the shooting death of a Mays Landing man Sunday morning.
Authorities say at about 7:20, officers with the Hamilton Township Police Department responded to the Hamilton Greene apartment complex on the Black Horse Pike following a 9-1-1 call.
At the scene, 28-year-old Kevin Schmalz of Mays Landing was pronounced dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Officials say there is no threat to the public and their investigation continues.
