With more than 200 Republicans in attendance at Historic Smithville Inn, Don Purdy was unanimously elected as Atlantic County Republican Chairman.

At the gathering, Atlantic County Committee members
voted to install Purdy, the former Mayor of Galloway Township, who will serve until the official June 14, 2022, Atlantic County reorganization meeting.

Purdy will run for a full four-year term at that time.

Former Atlantic County Republican chairman Keith Davis had served in the position for the past 16 years.

Davis leaves in order to form a Political Action Committee, that will support Republican candidates throughout South Jersey.

Tonight’s election of Purdy, was also a moment of thanks and appreciation for Davis.

Purdy said that “Chairman Keith Davis has demonstrated the perfect level of cooperation during this transition period.”

”Keith has been a great working partner and I both thank and congratulate him on his 16 highly successful years as our Chairman,” said Purdy.

New Jersey Senator Vince Polistina has also been very complimentary about Davis throughout what turned out to be a very smooth transition from Davis to Purdy.

“I want to thank Keith Davis for his many years of leadership of the Atlantic County Republican Committee,” said Polistina.

“His hard work and dedication to the organization has put us in a position we haven’t seen in over 2 decades and we will strive to continue his legacy of support for Republican candidates in Atlantic County,” said Polistina.
