4 New Jersey Red Lobster restaurants among dozens abruptly closed across U.S., report says
Published reports say four Red Lobster restaurants in New Jersey are among the roughly 50 locations across the country that abruptly closed on Monday.
And just how sudden were those closures?
Liquidators are already selling every item in those restaurants and workers that were impacted say they received no notice, many after years of service.
Red Lobster Abruptly Closes Restaurants
As of Tuesday morning, the dust was still settling, and exactly how many restaurants shut down wasn't quite known.
Published reports indicate the number was somewhere between 40 and possibly more than 80 in over two dozen states.
Red Lobster, with well over 600 restaurants across the country, has been rumored to be looking for either a buyer or could file for bankruptcy protection to restructure its debt.
The chain has not officially commented on the restaurants that it closed.
