21-year-old Cape May County, NJ, man charged with manufacturing child porn
Authorities in South Jersey say a Rio Grande man is facing a list of child porn-related charges.
Javish Roman of Rio Grande, NJ, Arrested
According to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, an analysis of evidence that belonged to 21-year-old Javish Roman revealed he exchanged video and pictures with an out-of-state juvenile engaging in prohibited sexual acts. He also had in his possession over 1,000 items containing child sexual abuse material.
This investigation derived from a previous investigation that involved Roman allegedly possessing and distributing child porn.
Charges Filed
This past Thursday, Roman was charged with the following:
- First-degree manufacturing of child pornography
- Second-degree endangering the welfare of a child/possession of child pornography
- Third-degree endangering the welfare of a child
Those found guilty of manufacturing child porn in New Jersey face 10 to 20 years in state prison.
Second-degree crimes can send someone to prison for five to 10 years.
Roman remains lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center pending court proceedings.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
