
Steve Sweeney in Political Jeopardy in Atlantic County, NJ
In days gone by, former New Jersey State Senate President Steve Sweeney would have been a lock for any Atlantic County political endorsement.
However, in the run-up to the Atlantic Democrat Convention, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka has picked-up endorsements from a number of key Atlantic County Democrat leaders.
The 50th Annual Atlantic County Democrat Convention will be held today, Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Renault Winery, located at 72 Bremen Ave, Egg Harbor City, New Jersey 08215.
The list of Baraka Atlantic County, New Jersey endorsements includes these key Atlantic County Democrats, including:
- Former Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford.
- Former Atlantic City Board of Education Member Nynel Langford.
- Pleasantville Mayor Judy Ward.
- Atlantic City Council President Aaron "Sporty" Randolph.
- Atlantic City Council Vice President Kaleem Shabazz.
- Atlantic City Councilwoman Latoya Dunston.
- Atlantic City Coucilman George "Animal" Crouch.
- Former Atlantic City 6th Ward Councilman Tim Mancuso.
- Atlantic City Board of Education Member Torres Mayfield.
- Former Atlantic City Board of Education Member Kenya Nunez.
The above group of Atlantic County Democrats are not always on the same political page together … yet, they have all come together for Baraka.

Until Sweeney lost his New Jersey Senate seat to the completely unknown Ed Durr … Sweeney would have been an absolute lock to win the Atlantic County Democrat Convention.
This appears very much in doubt, today,
If Steve Sweeney cannot win in formerly-friendly Atlantic County, his candidacy for Governor and his political comeback will essentially be over.
