Stockton University Summer Youth Rowing Program Underway
A great tradition continues with the launch of the 2022 Stockton University annual summer youth rowing program.
This program has afforded many who would otherwise not have access to this sport the opportunity to participate.
The program began yesterday and will continue for five weeks, as students will take part in team-building, exercise, receive coaching and make new friends.
Stockton University has earned a national reputation in rowing.
The boat, known in the sport of rowing as a “shell” can easily cost more than $ 10,000 each.
Rowing is an expensive, yet very rewarding sport. The shell pictured below was donated by former New Jersey Senator William L. Gormley.
Gormley has quietly been one of Stockton University’s most prolific financial contributors. Just as importantly, Gormley has donated his time and expertise to support Stockton University in a variety of ways over many years.
Gormley has been a regular financial contributor to the Stockton University summer youth rowing program.

27 students are participating in this summer’s program, being held on the Stockton University Galloway, New Jersey campus on iconic Lake Fred.
This is the kind of program that can change lives and start rewarding careers in the sport of rowing.
