The Mainland Regional girls basketball team did everything right in its effort to mount a comeback from 12 points down on Friday night against host Middle Township.

When the calendar flips over to January each year, that’s when the Middle Township girls basketball team typically starts to get on a roll.

Oakcrest came into Friday night’s matchup against visiting Middle Township off the high of beating Lower Cape May, 49-48, with a buzzer-beater on Thursday night.
