The Flyers struggles continued in a 5-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center.

There was no sugarcoating this one after it was over. The scoreboard said it all. “We got our butts kicked today in all facets of the game,” head coach Alain Vigneault said.

Montreal got off to a hot start by taking just 62 seconds to get on the board. Brendan Gallagher fired from an angle and Tomas Tatar buried the rebound to give the Canadiens the 1-0 lead.

Calm, cool and collected, Hart made 27 saves to help the Flyers claim a 2-1 win in Game 1 of their first-round series against the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night.

When it came down to it, the Flyers ran out of gas. Montreal was the hungrier team early, opened up the lead and let their goaltender do the rest.

The Flyers gave up three goals in the first period again, then two more in the second, to essentially turn this one into garbage time.

GM Chuck Fletcher announced a trade that sent forward Dale Weise and defenseman Christian Folin to the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman David Schlemko and forward Byron Froese on Saturday morning.
