17-year-old Charged For Atlantic City, NJ, Homicide Arrested in Georgia
A 17-year-old juvenile wanted for allegedly fatally shooting a man in Atlantic City last month has been taken into custody in Georgia.
The unidentified teen was arrested early Monday morning in South Fulton, a suburb of Atlanta.
At around 3:30 on the morning of June 18th, officers with the Atlantic City Police Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of a shooting.
The victim, 19-year-old Tamaj Bennett of Atlantic City, was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
This incident remains under investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and the Atlantic City Police Department.
The juvenile has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, and second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

The teen is being held at a detention facility in Georgia pending extradition to New Jersey.
