An investigation by ACPD detectives has led to the arrest of an 18-year-old Atlantic City man who was charged with shooting at an occupied vehicle earlier this month.

Officers responded to the 600 block of South Drive around 10:30 on the night of December 14th after receiving a ShotSpotter notification. Responding officers and detectives learned that a vehicle with four occupants was shot-at by an unknown individual in another vehicle. There were no injuries.

Monday, an ACPD officer located the wanted vehicle and its owner, 18-year-old Juan Aquino Silva, in the 2500 Block of Arctic Avenue. A continuing investigation by detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit led to criminal charges being signed against Silva for the shooting.

Silva is facing four counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, tampering with evidence, and conspiracy, and was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. His bail was set at $100,000.
