The Atlantic City Police Department says their officers were called to the westbound side of Route 30 at mile marker 56, about one-half mile past Clayton's Self Storage, just before 3:00 Sunday afternoon.
Witnesses told police that while making a lane change, a vehicle left the highway for an unknown reason and struck a light pole and road signs.
The driver of that vehicle, a 19-year-old woman from Atlantic City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities did not release her identity in a statement Monday night.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information is urged to call the Atlantic City Police Department's Accident Investigations Section at (609) 347-5744.
