Pets are strictly prohibited from being on the Ocean City, New Jersey Boardwalk 364 days per-year.

This Saturday, October 22, 2022 is the one exception to this hard and fast rule.

It’s the second annual Howl-O-Ween Parade and Dog Day.

The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce cordially invites you to participate in this fun event that brings dogs and their humans together on the Boardwalk of America’s Favorite Family Resort.

Dogs must be leashed and will be permitted on the Boardwalk from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. this Saturday.

There will be a lot of fun activities that will include: dog vendors at the Ocean City Music Pier; along with photo opportunities.

The Humane Society will announce the Ocean City “Pet of the Year.”

There will be shopping for treats, custom engraved dog tags, photos with Santa, and more.

The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce has provided these instructions for this full day of fun:

“People are encouraged to dress themselves and their dogs in Halloween costumes for the Howl-O-Ween Parade at 3 p.m. Registration is now open, and all proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Ocean City. Advance registration ends at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21. Day-of registration begins at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sports and Civic Center (Sixth Street
and Boardwalk).”

PARADE ROUTE:

Sixth Street to 12th Street on the Boardwalk.

PRIZES:

There will be contests and prizes will be awarded in a variety of different categories. An awards ceremony will be held at the11th Street Pavilion following the parade.

The greatest goal tender in NFL Philadelphia Flyers history Bernie Parent, his wife, Gini, and their dog, Sophia, will serve as the grand marshals for this year’s parade.
