Things You Can Do In The Atlantic City, NJ Area For Father’s Day
Father’s Day is fast approaching on Sunday, June 19.
It got us thinking about things you can do for, or, with your dad on his special day of recognition.
The Atlantic City, New Jersey area offers you so many diverse options and not all of them cost a lot of money and, some activities won’t cost you any money at all.
SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR DAD:
The years are flying by very fast. Spending quality time together is magical and it is greatly appreciated by dads and granddads.
This will not drain your bank account by even a single penny. Yet, it is priceless.
When your dad has the pleasure of your company, along with your children it just doesn’t get any better than this.
PLAN A LOCAL DAY TRIP:
You don’t have to go far and you don’t have to spend a lot of money.
Perhaps a nice family getaway to Cape May for the day. Have lunch or dinner together and return home the same day.
A NICE FAMILY DINNER AT HOME:
This may be my favorite option of all. It’s a “home” game. You’re all in your most comfortable “safe place.”
If you’re still in the home where your children grew up, there’s nothing like it.
ENJOY A LOCAL RESTAURANT AS A FAMILY:
Capriccio Italian Restaurant, Steve & Cookies, and Angeloni’s II Restaurant & Lounge to make just a few.
SUNDAY BRUNCH TOGETHER:
Many of the Atlantic City Casinos and some Atlantic City area restaurants have wonderful Sunday Brunch available.
One of the absolute best of all time is Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City’s Capriccio Italian Restaurant.
Capriccio has been consistently voted the best casino restaurant in America.
And, it’s right here in Atlantic City.
FATHER’S DAY ON THE BEACH:
Another free (Atlantic City) or it’s affordable to pay the daily beach fee at any of the local beaches.
For many families, a day at the beach will bring back many fond memories of days gone by.
GO TO THE MOVIES:
The movie industry has come back strong following the more than two-year COVID-19 pandemic.
Many people have not been to the movies in more than two years.
SOME OF THE BEST GOLF COURSES:
The Atlantic City area has some of the best golf courses anywhere.
If your Dad’s a golfer … this is a great activity.
DOLPHIN WATCHING IN ATLANTIC CITY:
You can go Dolphin Watching or boating with Atlantic City Cruises.
Captain Jeff George is incredibly service-minded and creates great memories.
George has also added a brand new, 25-passenger, Big Kahuna tiki boat for multiple family and friends to enjoy.
GO TO A BASEBALL GAME:
A road day trip to Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore, or any of the New Jersey minor league baseball games.
You can make it a home game and watch your favorite team at your own home together.
PLAY FAMILY BOARD GAMES AS A FAMILY:
This is a lot of fun and it gives families the opportunity to talk together about great memories or anything else.
ATLANTIC CITY CASINOS:
There are many restaurants and activities that you can enjoy together as a family.
VIRTUAL FATHER’S DAY TOGETHER:
Many family members live in different parts of the country.
Technology provides the opportunity to have a great virtual family gathering.
It’s not the same as being together in person, but, you can see each other and interact together.
Make an event of it, until the next time that you can all be together, again.
HISTORY OF FATHER’S DAY:
Just in case you’ve ever wondered how Father’s Day came about:
Father's Day began in America in the early 20th century. It was founded after Mother’s Day in order to celebrate and honor the role that fathers play in American society.
The idea of Father’s Day is credited to have occurred in Spokane, Washington at the local YMCA in 1910.
Sonora Smart Dodd, from Arkansas, is acknowledged as the founder of this special day.
This is just a small list of things to do. Get festive. Go make your own family memories.
Happy Father’s Day!
