You Suggested, We Debated: The 10 Best Classic Diners in New Jersey
What would New Jersey be without its diners?
As more and more national restaurants dot the landscape, diners here seem to still be doing pretty well (most of them, anyway).
I mean, there's nothing wrong with places like Denny's or Chili's, and the thought of a Waffle House in the Garden State is about as foreign as it gets, but we love our diners here.

10 Best Classic Diners in New Jersey
But what are the absolute best diners in New Jersey? That's a tough question to answer. And one that's likely to spark a few debates.
Now, there is no shortage of "best diner" lists floating around the internet, but we decided to make this one a little different. We assembled a list of the best classic diners in New Jersey.
Our Definition of a "Classic" NJ Diner
We defined "classic" as one that looks and feels like an old-school Jersey diner. We'll admit that doesn't set many benchmarks, but the best way to describe it is maybe "you'll know it when you see it."
We intentionally excluded those that were overly remodeled or ones that are trying really hard to look trendy (there's nothing wrong with those places, believe me, but that's not what this list is about).
Based on your suggestions and our crack team of researchers (alright, mostly your suggestions), here are the true diner gems in New Jersey.
