Tragedy in Blackwood, NJ as Son Charged With Mother’s Murder
A man suspected of killing his own mother inside her Blackwood home has officially been charged with her murder.
65-Year-Old Woman Killed Inside Her Blackwood, NJ Home
Approximately 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, a call was reportedly placed to 9-1-1 about an unresponsive woman inside a home on Fairmount Avenue in Blackwood not far from Black Horse Pike.
65-year-old Lillian Doran was already dead when Gloucester Township Police Department arrived on the scene.
Doran was found deceased in her home's bedroom, the victim of an allegedly fatal head wound, Patch.com reports.
Noticeably absent from the home was Lillian Doran's vehicle, her 30-year-old son, James Doran, and the baseball bat he was reportedly walking around the Fairmount Ave. house the night before his mother's murder.
Investigators were also given information from a witness that claims to have heard loud banging noises and a garage door opening approximately six hours before Lillian Doran's body was found.
Man Suspected of Killing His Mother Flees to Pennsylvania
James Doran reportedly made it all the way to Bedford County, Pennsylvania before police caught up with him, but not before allegedly leading cops on a chase. He was eventually arrested and taken into custody around 5 p.m. this past Saturday.
James Doran has now been charged with First Degree Murder, according to Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Upon a search of Lillian Doran's stolen vehicle, police reportedly found a baseball bat in the trunk, but there has been no official confirmation as to whether that bat is the weapon used to bludgeon Lillian Doran to death.
