Two Citizens Are Now Going After Big Atlantic City, NJ Legal Bills
Last week, we broke the news that OPRA legend John Paff had set his sights on getting copies of the Riley & Riley and Donio legal billing records regarding the Atlantic City, New Jersey Board of Education.
Now, I have learned that a retired teacher, with “unlimited time on his hands” has also been filing OPRA requests and has received certain Riley and Riley legal billing records.
Former Atlantic City Board of Education Member Provided 39 Pages Of Riley & Riley Legal Bills
Here is one example, from April, 2024. The cover sheet outlines the following breakdown for this one month of legal billing sent to the Atlantic City Board of Education.
Solicitor - $ 33,900.00
Workers Compensation - $31,257.80
TOTAL - $65,157.80
Paff Has Requested All Riley & Riley & Donio Legal Bills From Phil Eisenstein Case
Eisenstein won a big Atlantic County jury verdict a few weeks ago, that will likely cost the taxpayers of Stlantic City more than $ 1,000,000.
Eisenstein Attorney David Castellani
Castellani is working in good faith to try and resolve the Eisenstein matter.
Thus far, the Atlantic City Board of Education has shown no interest in bringing closure to this long-standing matter.
Phil Eisenstein Attorney John Swift
Eisenstein attorney John Swift has confirmed to us that the Atlantic City Board of Education could have settled the Eisenstein case more than 10 years ago for less than $ 20,000.
Law Offices of Riley & Riley
When the now multiple OPRA requests produce evidence of these legal billing records, the overall dollar amount will likely be staggering.
