Two Hurt, One Arrested in Four-vehicle Crash on Route 30 Monday
Atlantic City Police had their hands full Monday night as a four-car crash closed Route 30 for two hours.
Just after 8:00 Monday night, Atlantic City cops responded to Route 30 near Clayton’s Storage and found three vehicles had sustained heavy damage from an accident. One vehicle that was traveling westbound flipped-over the center median and landed in the eastbound side of Route 30. A second vehicle, driven by 31-year-old Juan Ortiz-Diaz of Pleasantville, was traveling eastbound and ended up in the westbound lane. Cops say a fourth vehicle sustained minor damage.
Two drivers were taken to ARMC-City for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Meanwhile, Ortiz-Diaz was arrested and charged with assault by auto, driving while intoxicated, and numerous motor vehicle summons. He was released on a summons with a future court date.
The initial cause for the crash is still being investigated. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or what caused it, is asked to contact Atlantic City Police at (609) 347-5744.
